Join us on Tuesday, May 27th at the Axe and Fiddle Public House from 5 to 7 PM for a presentation on
Optimal Tree Planting for Climate Change
featuring Erik Burke, Eugene Director of Friends of Trees.
As Director of Eugene Friends of Trees, Erik says he does a little bit of everything; fundraising, planting, pruning, planning, answering phones, communication, and education. He has lived in Eugene and Springfield for most of his life and has been volunteering planting and caring for trees and natural areas there since 1986.
Erik holds a BA from the UO, and a MA in applied anthropology from OSU, and is an ISA-certified arborist, and municipal specialist. He is also a certified arborist for Sperry Tree Care.
We host these family-friendly events on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5-7pm at the Axe & Fiddle, 657 E. Main St. in Cottage Grove.
Events begin with informal socializing, trivia, and updates about the watershed and watershed council. The Science on Tap presentation begins at 6pm.
The event is free to the public, with a $5 donation suggested.
