Featuring a presentation on “The Willamette Valley Historical Ecology Project” by Dr. Jaime Kennedy, Director of the Research Division at the UO Museum of Natural and Cultural History!
“Archaeologists from Portland State University (PSU) and the University of Oregon (UO) partnered with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to develop a historical ecology research program for the USACE Willamette Valley Project. The collaboration brought together a group of USACE, PSU, and UO staff, faculty and consultants who worked together to provide training and professional development opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students in the field of archaeology and cultural resource management. The educational training aimed to increase diversity and inclusivity practices through community outreach, Tribal coordination, and research collaboration.”
