Join Coast Fork Birders Sunday, January 15 as we count Bald Eagles and other birds to contribute local data to the Oregon Eagle Foundation’s statewide mid-winter Eagle count!
All ages welcome. We will have some scopes available. If you have your own binoculars, even better! Bring any birding gear you like, as well as warm clothing and your lunch. Onsite bathrooms available.
We will be surveying both Dorena Reservoir and Cottage Grove Reservoir. You’re welcome to participate in one, or both! We will begin with Dorena, meeting at 10 am in the parking lot of the old U.S. Forest Service office located at 78405 Cedar Park Rd, Cottage Grove. The Dorena count will take place from 10 am-1 pm. For the Cottage Grove Reservoir count, we will be meeting at Lakeside Park at 2 pm and we expect this count to take place until 4 pm.
For any questions, please reach out to Angela McIntosh at angela@coastfork.org or call 541-767-9717.
NOTE: This is a community science activity meant to survey the natural wildlife in our area, not a “safari” experience. While we are typically successful in sighting Eagles, there are no guarantees we will see any. These are wild animals and we cannot predict where they will be.
