  returns\, bringing a stellar line-up of guest speakers on a variety of fa
 scinating topics!\n\nOur March event celebrates 50 years of land stewardsh
 ip at Cerro Gordo\, a presentation by author Eric Alan and McKenzie River 
 Trust Stewardship Program Manager\, Jodi Lemmer. \n\n\n\nIn 1974\, an idea
 listic and motivated group of people purchased approximately 1\,150 acres
  on the north shore of Dorena Lake\, with the intention of building shared
 \, intentional community with a focus on living close to the land. While t
 he Cerro Gordo community never developed as envisioned\, land stewardship 
 has continued to evolve beautifully. After the formation of Cerro Gordo La
 nd Conservancy\, the nonprofit successfully obtained two conservation ease
 ments covering 1\,000 acres of Cerro Gordo's meadows\, oak woodlands\, mix
 ed conifer forests\, and riparian areas. Since then\, a great deal of cons
 ervation and restoration work has been accomplished\, with much more in pr
 ocess and planned. Come celebrate Cerro Gordo's first fifty years of land 
 stewardship\, in caring for one of the region's most beautiful and preciou
 s areas.\n\nWe host these family-friendly events on the fourth Tuesday of 
 each month from 5-7pm at the Axe &amp\; Fiddle\, 657 E. Main Street in Cot
 tage Grove.\nEvents begin with informal socializing\, trivia\, and updates
  about the watershed and watershed council. The Science on Tap presentatio
 n begins at 6pm.\n\nThe event is free to the public\, with a $5 donation s
 uggested.
