  Eagle Midwinter Count 2026\nWhen: January 18th\, 2026 (Sunday)\n\nWhere: 
 (2 locations)\n\nDorena Reservoir: Start Time: 9:30 a.m.\nMorning Parking:
  Park in the Walmart parking lot (close to Outdoor Living)\nCount is predi
 cted to last from 10 am - 1 pm.\n\nCottage Grove Reservoir: Start Time: 2 
 p.m.\nAfternoon Parking: Lakeside Park\nCount is predicted to last until a
 round 4 pm.\n\nAnyone is welcome. In the past\, we have seen from around 9
  eagles at a reservoir to zero. Usually\, we do see some\, but I like to w
 arn folks that there is no guarantee. These are wild animals and we can't 
 predict where they will be hanging out. (In the past we have had folks com
 e along who were expecting more of a "safari" experience with close-ups of
  the eagles). We will have some scopes available but if people have their 
 own binoculars\, they should bring them.\n\n\nYou can join us at either on
 e or both depending on your schedule and wishes.  If you want to survey b
 oth reservoirs\, be sure to bring lunch and water (or a hot beverage) for 
 yourself. Dress warmly and be prepared for the weather.  Carpooling will 
 be organized at the first parking locations for Dorena &amp\; Cottage Grov
 e Reservoirs.  There are restrooms available at some of the parking areas
 .\n\nWe will be recording all species of birds observed into eBird.  Alis
 on Center will continue her decades of leading this eagle count research.\
